The ANPR system, based on anpr and Microsoft technologies, captures the images of all vehicles entering and exiting the car park and calculates the time spent there, based on a maximum stay time allocated by the business. The driver who overstays the time allowed is issued with a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) containing details of the offence complete with a photograph of their vehicle. These details are located through the DVLA secure information service. The benefits of the ANPR system to the business are many: the system is non-confrontational, reliable, operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is not staff dependant. The registration numbers of staff members cars, visitors and authorised parkers are included on an authorised users list which can be updated online ensuring that valuable staff and clients are exempt from enforcement. To alert customers to the parking condition, highly visible signage is displayed throughout the car park as well as at the entrance and exit points. |
